Think again. Linux is definitely simpler than Windows or even Macintosh. Installation can be confusing—but we can help you, and once it's installed, many people don't even know they've switched to Linux, unless they want to “open the hood.”
In fact, proprietary systems are well aware of this, and their recent “improvements” are often simply stolen ideas from Linux. No matter, Linux encourages the spread of ideas!
NB: It's true that, say, twenty years ago, using Linux required more serious computer skills. But since the introduction of Ubuntu, it's become very simple!
