Office Equipment

The default operating system at UNIGE is Microsoft, with a few Macintosh computers. Linux users must install their favorite OS themselves—even though the university pays for a license for each OS installed!

The software offered to clients is mainly from MSOffice. There is no promotion of free software, even though programs such as libreoffice can perform the same tasks and communicate effectively with users of MSOffice products.

In terms of cloud solutions, the only option offered is proprietary (Microsoft's OneDrive), even though free solutions exist (e.g., nextcloud).
